Phases of Recovery

Recovery from an eating disorder is a multi-faceted process. To make it less overwhelming, ACED provides a phase system that breaks treatment into realistic, manageable steps. This research-based phase system provides a supportive recovery plan that provides clients with the necessary structure for their journey.

Because every person is different, the phase system paves a unique path for the treatment process and allows progressive freedoms to meet client goals. Clients work together with the ACED team team to develop personalized recovery plans reflecting each individual's own path and progress towards restoration and recovery.

While some specific goals are pre-established, the majority of client recovery goals are collaboratively determined between each client and the team. Based on the individual needs of the client, they transition at their own pace between each phase. As clients transition through each phase, they embrace more freedom and responsibility; moving closer to recovery and further from the eating disorder.

You cannot heal a lifetime of pain overnight, be patient with yourself, it takes as long as it takes to rebuild yourself.
