6) Do you accommodate special dietary needs, like vegetarianism? And how do you handle food preferences?
We acknowledge and empathize with a client's food struggles. We purposefully created meal plans to accommodate some eating restrictions, such as vegetarianism and food allergies. However, our goal is to free clients of food-related fears and anxieties. In that effort, we work closely with clients to distinguish valid dietary restrictions from eating-disordered food issues. We don't force clients to eat any particular food, but we do patiently challenge them to face their anxiety in a safe and structured environment.
