Sandra earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi, where she also completed a Pediatric Residency, and fellowships in Addiction Medicine and Adolescent Medicine.

She is the first Physician Health Officer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and was founder and Medical Director of UAB’s’ Addiction Recovery Program. Sandra has treated a multitude of clients with co-occurring eating disorders and chemical addictions.

With a robust professional background, Sandra brings to the ACED a deep understanding of addictive disorders and the knowledge to successfully treat them with a team approach.

She enjoys hiking throughout the year – especially on a crisp autumn day – and taking short-term medical mission trips worldwide.
