<----back to bios

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Following a dancing career in New York City, she earned a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Lisa also attended the Alabama School of Fine Arts and, as an adolescent, danced with the Alabama Ballet.

Lisa is the Director and Founder of Agile Physical Therapy, a Birmingham-based clinic specializing in ailments related to orthopedics, dance and sports. Before she established her own business, Lisa was the Director of Physical Therapy and staff member at UAB Sports Medicine. She previously worked alongside our founder, Renée Miller, at another eating-disorder treatment environment.

With a professional focus on sports- and dance-related injuries, Lisa has long worked with the eating-disorder population. She is active in research, provides education on injury prevention, and developed the Alabama School of Fine Arts’ “Healthy Dancer” Injury Prevention and Screening Program, which encompasses screening for eating disorders.

“My focus is helping people return to or develop a healthy lifestyle that is holistic, including diet, exercise and injury prevention,” Lisa says. “The idea is to live life to its fullest.”

Lisa’s haven is her home, where she cooks, bakes, reads, plays and curls up with her husband and their three young children. She believes everyone has a special gift to offer the world and that she’s found hers: helping others find peace within their physical bodies.
