Anne-Laura Cook, MD

Community Physician

Anne-Laura, who this summer will join the nearby Southview Medical Group as a Physician of Internal Medicine, earned both a Bachelor of Science from the New College at the University of Alabama and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine.

Her professional interests include women’s health, preventive and sports medicine, and medically complex cases. Anne-Laura’s work requires one of her strongest qualities: the willingness to look beyond the obvious.

“I want to truly understand the individual needs and challenges of each and every patient,” she says.

This trait is respected and mirrored by all of us at the ACED.

Anne-Laura is compassionate, deeply empathic and passionate about life. She enjoys road cycling, mountain biking, running, swimming, sailing and hiking. She is also looking forward to learning to whitewater kayak.

Anne-Laura enjoys cooking and loves to host a dinner party. As a supporter of the Slow-Food movement, she uses local ingredients, and believes each meal is a celebration of culture and community.
