Judith holds a Master of Science in Counselor Education from the University of South Alabama and a Doctorate degree in Counselor Education from the University of Alabama. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

For more than 20 years, she has provided counseling, psychotherapy and consultation to couples, individuals, families and organizations. Before that time, Judith provided counseling on college campuses.

She was the grant-funded Coordinator for the Alabama Suicide Prevention Task Force for 2007-2008. She has a 25-year affiliation with the Crisis Center, having been the Bereavement Coordinator and Facilitator of the Suicide Bereavement Group for the last 10 years.

Judith was named the Mental Health Counselor of the Year in 2007 by the American Mental Health Counselors Association, preceded by Outstanding Practitioner of the Year in 2006 by the Alabama Counseling Association.

Judith’s “client-centered” philosophy beautifully aligns with the individualized program at the ACED. “My commitment is to invite my clients to be a teacher, so that I might learn how to be helpful to them in their own journey,” she says.

Her first real job was “detassling” corn in Illinois. “It was a rite of passage for most kids growing up in the ‘rural’ corner of the world,” she says. Judith still gets her hands dirty gardening when her young son is occupied with Grandma and Grandpa.
