LeAnn Nequette, MA, ALC, CYT
Yoga Instructor and Associate Program Therapist*
*Supervisor: Judith Harrington, LPC-S
LeAnn holds a Master of Arts in Agency Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher who meets the “200-Hour Standard” and proclaims yoga as a “true love.” She has long worked as an advocate to improve the identification and intervention of eating disorders.
Because she defeated her own eating disorder, LeAnn sees yoga in a unique light. She teaches yoga – not only as a tool for body/mind awareness – but also as a therapeutic modality for recovery.
She brings to ACED “personal experience, a willingness to hear and listen to participants, tools to aid recovery, empathetic support and a shoulder to lean on.”
LeAnn is the co-founder of Birmingham Yoga, “The Studio without Walls”; wife to Lou; and mother to Jake and Kylie. She loves to “sing about any and every thing, despite my voice.” And she says, “I’m thankful for the life I have and the people in it.”
